Blue Glass and Brass Wire Wrap Pendant

This intriguing pendant began as a lump of clay, some fragments of blue glass and a few feet of brass wire. I first hand sculpted the drop out of porcelain and then glazed it in a deep, sumptuous burnt red. What sets this pendant apart is the addition of molten glass which cooled into a concave crystalline “lake” in the middle of the drop. You can actually see down into the “lake”, which has a lovely crackle effect. The shape is like a worry stone, with a thumb-sized depression in the "lake". After buffing everything smooth, I secured and wrapped the drop in a beautiful brass wire setting which was antiqued to a rich brown-black. This pendant is truly a work of art.
